Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Voyager ("Voyager", "we", "us"), a browser-based service that pairs you with a random traveler for a real-time video conversation with AI speech translation. By using Voyager you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Voyager.
Voyager is not moderated. We do not monitor, screen, filter, or supervise calls or participants. You are matched with anonymous travelers and you interact with them entirely at your own risk.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Voyager. By using the service you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and that your use complies with all laws that apply to you. Voyager is not intended for and may not be used by minors.
2. The service
Voyager connects you to a random other user for a live video and audio conversation and uses AI to transcribe and translate speech. The service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
3. No moderation; assumption of risk
Voyager performs no human or automated moderation. We do not pre-screen users and do not control what other users say or show on camera. You may be exposed to content or behavior that is offensive, indecent, illegal, or otherwise objectionable. You acknowledge this risk and agree that you use Voyager at your sole risk. If a call makes you uncomfortable, end it immediately.
4. AI translation is not guaranteed accurate
Captions and translations are produced by automated AI systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or misleading. Do not rely on Voyager's translation for any decision where accuracy matters, including any medical, legal, financial, safety, or emergency context. Voyager makes no warranty as to translation accuracy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, while using Voyager:
- be under 18, or knowingly interact with anyone you believe to be under 18;
- display, transmit, or solicit nudity, sexual conduct, or sexually explicit material, or expose others to it without consent;
- produce, request, or distribute any content that sexualizes or exploits minors — this will be reported to the relevant authorities;
- harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or incite violence or hatred against any person or group;
- engage in illegal activity, or promote or facilitate it;
- record, screenshot, stream, or redistribute another participant without their consent;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- attempt to identify, locate, or contact another user outside Voyager without their consent;
- use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access or overload the service, or attempt to bypass any technical limit or security measure;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.
These rules are described in plainer terms in our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms. We may terminate or block your access at any time, without notice, for any reason, including suspected violation of these Terms.
6. Your content
You are solely responsible for everything you say, show, and transmit through Voyager. Because calls are peer-to-peer and not recorded by us, Voyager does not store or claim any rights in your conversation content.
7. Intellectual property and DMCA
The Voyager name, software, and design are owned by us and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the service except as permitted by law. If you believe content transmitted through Voyager infringes your copyright, contact us at the address in section 13; note that calls are not recorded, so we generally cannot remove or retrieve call content.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voyager is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty regarding availability, accuracy, security, or the conduct of other users. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or safe.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voyager and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the service or from the conduct of any other user, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) in the aggregate.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voyager and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your content or conduct, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to Voyager or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. To the extent permitted by law, you and Voyager each waive any right to a jury trial and agree that any claim will be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Voyager after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
